Margaret F. Reynolds Endowment

Margaret F. Reynolds died in 2012 in her beloved Plano, Texas. She was the widow of homer B. Reynolds, Jr. who died in 1977. They were married on Valentine’s day in 1957. She was born in Sherman, Texas and attended Sherman High School ,Southern Methodist University and Texas Woman’s University with a Bachelor of Arts and Masters degrees. She and her family were active in the Plano community.They were founding members of Christ United Methodist Church.

Among other interest and activities, Mrs. Reynolds served on the Criminal Justice Facilities Committee for Collin County; selected as Plano Woman of the Year for 1988. She was a founding member of St. Andrew United Methodist Church where she served as the only woman on the first building committee in the 1980’s. She was elected to the Collin County Community College Board of Trustees in 1988 and served for twelve years. Mrs. Reynolds, at the time of her death, was a member of the Teacher Certification board and the Plano Parks Foundation Board.

Mrs. Reynolds’ professional career included nine years as office manager for Smith-Corona-Marchant, Inc. in Dallas and 29 years with Plano Independent School District, serving fourteen years as principal of E. A. Sigler Elementary School. The school library is named in her honor. Her life’s joy and passion were her son and St. Andrew United Methodist Church…. also, the Plano Wildcats and Dallas Cowboys.
