Samuel E. Roach Endowment
Sam Roach is from a long-line of Frisco families who have been in the area since the late 1800s. Sam’s great-grandfather built the first house in Frisco and Sam’s grandfather, Emmett Dillard Roach, owned Frisco’s grain elevator from 1915 through 1922. Sam graduated Frisco High as class valedictorian. After high school graduation, Sam attended UNT for 2 years and received his engineering degree from UT Austin.
Mr. Roach served four terms on the Frisco ISD Board of Trustees from 1978 to 1990. He has also served for 13 years on the Collin College Board of Trustees and 15 years on the Foundation Board of Directors. In addition to these educational roles, he has been a significant part of the economic development of this area through his service on the Frisco Economic Development Corporation, Frisco Lions Club, United way, Frisco Chamber of Commerce and the Heritage Association of Frisco.
