Theresa Kathryn (Klein) Smith
Theresa (Terri) Klein Smith was born in Dallas, Texas in 1959. She is a graduate of Bishop Lynch High School and then the University of North Texas where she earned honors (magna cum laude) with both Bachelor and Master’s Degrees in Tax Accounting. Terri held CPA licenses in Missouri and Texas. She was known to be a conscientious, high achiever who spent her career “teaching” young college graduates at work, helping them as they started their careers. Those who knew her describe her as the “sweetest girl in the world,” “wonderful lady,” “a smile to light up the room,” “upbeat nature,” “wonderful smile,” “utmost professionalism, inspiration to all who knew her,” “positive attitude, wisdom, honesty, and kindness will be missed,” “honor to work with her,” “wonderful laugh, honor and privilege to work with her,” “passion for service made others’ lives better every day,” “easy laugh and a smile in her voice,” “will miss her smile, sharp wit, and engaging personality,” “will miss her expertise, camaraderie, and smile,” “one of the kindest people I have ever met.” It is fitting that she offer generous scholarships to Collin College Accounting students. This scholarship honors Terri’s unselfish, giving nature as her legacy to the Collin County community.
